Apprenticed as cabinetmaker of contemporary American Artisan, Ron Ashford, at Auroa, Taranaki, NZ.
Worked on large commissions, primarily in NZ Kauri, using traditional and contemporary construction details.

This diversified field of training and experience has enabled Gray Hawk to develop a highly pragmatic and creative approach to furniture construction. This combines with a personal commitment to design and build with integrity. Gray Hawk's aesthetic sense has evolved from a deep communion with nature and a historic perspective which connects him with a variety of classical styles.
