At 707 we search Australia for furniture that will appreciate in value, for pieces that are crafted to last for generations, for modern designs that will become classics. These pieces will be guaranteed to make a statement when added to your private collection.
We look for focus on designers who are in tune with the environment and understand the craft of building sustainable designs from eco friendly materials.
Our mission is to bring easy access to owning and enjoying beautiful furniture. We want to help people discover and acquire the finest Australian furniture available today.
707 was created to:
- Help furniture designers and designer-makers make a living in their craft; and
- Offer consumers easy access to a selection of original furniture.

Who are we?
 Varia Mitchell, Director
Growing up in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, Varia was brought up in a house filled with music, art, culture and creativity, a sense of adventure and a need to discover (and the appreciation of good wine). Her interest in culture grew as she travelled to Eastern Europe just after the fall of communism, where she worked with various organizations in Albania, Romania and Bulgaria for several years. Whilst travelling she also worked as a freelance writer with NZ photographer Suzanna Burton.
Upon returning to Adelaide life took various turns starting with a position in an antiques and fine art auction house which helped to tune her appreciation of fine furniture and beautiful craftsmanship. Changes in management saw her move to her other passion, travel. She has worked for the last 12 years in various roles around Australia from tour organising, product development and finally, to director of sales & marketing.
A renewed interest in design and fine furniture began when she moved with to Brisbane 6 years ago. The vision of 707 evolved over several years and will continue to evolve as new designers and exciting pieces are uncovered.
Memberships and more
We are active members of the Furniture Industry Association of Australia (FIAA), and have recently been accepted as an approved website for feature on the Australian Government's online Culture portal, culture.gov.au.
